Victims

SEA has established a network of trained mentors to support victims of crime. SEA seeks to foster strong relationships with established institutions such as law enforcement, schools, juvenile justice groups, and churches through restorative justice programs.

Los Angeles City Gang Reduction Youth Development Gang Intervention Services

The Mayor’s Office of Gang Reduction and Youth Development was established in 2007 to provide a comprehensive, targeted approach to reducing gang crime and violence in Los Angeles. A signature feature of this approach has been to identify the areas of the City with the highest rates of gang violence and to provide intensive prevention and intervention services to the youth in these areas. The twelve core areas identified, known as Gang Reduction and Youth Development (GRYD) Zones had rates of gang-related crime that were at least 400 percent higher than elsewhere in the City. In addition to high levels of gang crime and activity, the GRYD Zones also have extremely high truancy and school drop-out rates, poverty levels, and unemployment. SEA, Inc. provides Community-Based Gang Intervention and Case Management Services along with wrap around services to youth between the ages of 14 to 25 in five of the twelve GRYD Zones:

Los Angeles County Caught in the Crossfire

SEA’s Caught in the Crossfire provides services to youth between the ages of 12-24 who have been hospitalized as a result of a violent injury. The program includes:

  • Bedside Intervention
  • Post-release case management
  • Family Mental Health support services

Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services

The purpose of SEA’s Mental Health programs recognizes human pathology and leads individuals to wholeness.

Comprehensive Plans Includes:

  • Case managers are available for all students, faculty, staff, and administration in order to: assess in developing a personal growth plan resources are available to support their growth.
  • Psychotherapists available at every SEA site to provide voluntary group support and therapy.
  • Psychologists available for referral and treatment of any SEA member who suffers from clinical or personality disorders.
  • Counselors to educate and refer co-occurring disorders and substances related struggles.
  • Trained counselors to assist in processing grief, loss and trauma
