Three Station Model.
Instructional delivery system - upon enrollment, students are administered an initial English/Language Arts and Mathematics assessments to determine their academic skill level in these subject areas. Additionally, transcripts from previously attended schools are reviewed by the classroom teacher in order to assign the appropriate courses or the schedule of classes. The results of the transcript review and initial assessment are used by the classroom teacher to create an individual schedule of classes, and an individualized learning plan (ILP). S.E.A. Charter High School’s student-teacher ratio does not exceed 25 students. The student day is organized into three, 120 minute block periods. Within each of these periods the students move within the following three stations for a period of 40 minutes each.
- Station 1 - The teacher provides small group direct instruction which is content standards-based, and integrates the use of differentiated instruction methods such as SDAIE strategies, scaffolding, and small group discussions to support the student’s needs and achievement of their goals. Addresses EL & IEP students
- Station 2 - Students work independently, or in cooperative/collaborative learning groups to complete assignments, or work on a project, or on practice activities that reinforce & support instruction from station 1
- Station 3 - Computer Assisted Learning (CAL) station provides each student with assistance in areas of academic deficiency as indicated in their Individual Learning Plan. Course work in this integrated technology program includes computer assisted instruction courses in English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences and supplemental material via the internet.
