S.E.A. Awarded Candidacy Status by School Accrediting Association

In March, S.E.A. had its first visit from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) – one of six regional associations that accredit public and private schools, colleges and universities in the U.S. During the two-day visit, WASC committee members completed a comprehensive overview of S.E.A.

We are proud to announce that, as a result of their findings, the WASC Commission granted S.E.A. Charter Schools “Candidacy Status,” which runs through June 30, 2012, and bestows on S.E.A. the following titles: Candidate for Accreditation; and, Approved by the Schools Commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

One June 1, 2010, a final report will be conducted in order to move SEA Charter toward full WASC accreditation. Once achieved, S.E.A. students will have direct access to the University of California and California State
