SEA at a Glance

SEA History

Soledad Enrichment Action Inc. (SEA) is a non-profit organization, founded in 1972 by mothers in East Los Angeles who had lost their sons to gang violence. From these humble beginnings, SEA has since grown to become the leading provider of services to high-risk individuals, families, and gang-affected communities within Southern California. SEA combines individually-tailored high school educational services with a diverse array of wrap-around and support services.

Mission Statement

SEA empowers youth, families, and communities in underserved areas to become self-determined contributing members of society by providing guidance, resources and support.

SEA Charter School

SEA Charter High School currently operates seventeen education centers, which provide youth and families an alternative education model. This personalized educational program enables high-risk individuals to earn their high school diploma. SEA Charter High School enrolls approximately 3,500 students annually between the ages of 14 to 18. Due to its rigorous standards and intense personal focus, SEA Charter School has a 77% successful completion rate.

SEA Programs

SEA’s holistic approach empowers individuals to learn to access social services, become better parents, complete a high school education, gain employment and live productive self-determined lives. SEA works with its clients by helping them evaluate where they are, helping them see their potential, and helping them create a path towards achievement. SEA adopts a multi-faceted approach to encourage this personal and social growth:

SEA Approach to Client Services

SEA works with its clients in a safe, family-oriented and supportive environment to enable them to become self-directed and productive members of society. The agenda for a SEA client belongs to the client, not to a SEA program or the staff.
